Waterdrawing: launching the film

The film takes the river cycle as its theme - stream  tidal  source
and with Michael McInerney, pianist, composer and shakuhachi player,
takes us from the upper reaches, through the tidal waters and out to sea before
returning to the source.

Conceived originally as a piece simply for water and piano the film grew
out of its performance which was documented at the Ariel Centre, Devon.

The film was shown on 13th and 14th October 2007 to an invited audience at the Old Forge, Holne, Devon, a studio converted by Ruscha Schorr-Kon to enable a debate she feels is crucial. To quote, "if woman can do what men do, who are men?"  This is from her recently published book, The Wisdom of the Sphinx.

Waterdrawing is a co-creation (her word) between Jenni Wittman and Michael McInerney.

Copies of the first section, Stream, from which the Flash extract above is taken, are available to buy. If you are interested in the installation or the video please contact Jenni Wittman on 01803 867558.
